Graduate Fellowships

Ecological Genomics: Genes in Ecology and Ecology in Genes

Multiple Graduate Fellowships AVAILABLE for admission in Fall 2010 to join the Ecological Genomics Institute (EGI) at Kansas State University. These fellowships are available through a joint program among some EGI members and Ecology and Evolutionary faculty in the KSU Division of Biology. This program, Ecology, Evolution and Genomics in Changing Environments (EEG), features:

Integrative opportunities in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Genomics
Diverse interdisciplinary coursework
Development of teaching skills
Competitive stipend of up to $30,000 per year, plus tuition and expenses
Instrumentation, core facilities and resources need to perform quality research

The application deadline for the EEG program is December 15, 2009.

In addition, individual EGI members may also have Graduate Fellowships available. Research in the EGI works to link responses of living systems to environmental change at the genetic level. The overarching goal of this research initiative is to identify the genes that are involved in organismal responses to the environment. Information on EGI faculty and their research can be found on our Research page..

Research and education opportunities exist for Graduate Students to work towards an MS or PhD degree in this large collaborative and interdisciplinary effort. Twenty faculty with interests spanning the diversity of disciplines within ecological genomics are involved in the Ecological Genomics Institute (see below).
